Message from Board Chairman
I am pleased to deliver my first opening statement for the Quarterly Newsletter from the Duku Forè Foundation. This is an exciting moment not only as the time we deliver our inaugural newsletter, but also a moment we celebrate the launching of the foundation and roll out activities that define who we are.
On 1 July 2024, we officially launched the operations of the Duku Fore Foundation. A culmination of 2 years of rigorous case studies, visioning and paperwork to register a not-for-profit organisation to facilitate empowering and enriching dreamers as they pursue their dreams. It can never get any better than this, now that dreamers have a home to support them as they pursue their dreams. I am also happy to announce that this foundation has the status of a charitable organisation through the ACNC.
In addition, I am also pleased to announce that, to facilitate good governance and to operate within the confines of Australian law, the foundation is finalizing onboarding a vibrant Board of Directors with an array of talent, experience, and qualification including being graduates of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
We continue to scout for talent as we build our secretariate led by our first Chief Executive Officer Edward Mponda. Let me take this opportunity to thank individuals too numerous to mention for their support and volunteerism towards our work over the years, before the concept of the foundation was hatched – we see you and we will continue working with you.
In pursuit of our mission, we finalised a three-year Strategic Plan spanning from June 2024 to May 2027 - as a blueprint that will guide the delivery of our services. We outlined seven Strategic Pillars that will be unfolding as the foundation gains its roots.
I am encouraged that we have hit the ground running with the launch of our first Rich Dreams Space alongside the launch of the foundation. This space is one of the strategic pillars outlined in our three-year plan. The space is designed as a safe environment where dreamers come together to explore their passions, nurture their dreams, and support one another on their journey toward realizing their aspirations.
I look forward to a very exciting time ahead, a vibrant organisation, and supporting a lot of individuals fulfilling and reaching their dreams.
